Texas was number 2 in highway-rail grade crossing fatalities in the U.S. and number 2 in trespassing fatalities, according to preliminary 2013 Federal Railroad Administration statistics.On February 13 and 14, 2014, Texas Operation Lifesaver volunteers will make rail safety presentations to Argyle ISD students. Texas Operation Lifesaver is a nonprofit public rail safety education program whose mission is to end collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad property. Texas Operation Lifesaver has trained volunteers who educate the public about the dangers at railroad crossings and trespassing on railroad right-of-ways.A separate presentation for parents of Argyle ISD students will be held on February 13 at 6:00 pm in the High School Auditorium.
