Argyle Powerlifting Team Competes at State

The Argyle Powerlifting Team had their two State Qualifiers compete this past weekend in the State Powerlifting Championships in Frisco, Texas.

Senior Cassidy Owen, a three-time State Qualifier, finished the day in fifth place in the 165lb division. She set a personal record in all 3 Lifts: Squat (385lb), Bench (225lb), and Deadlift (355lb).

She was named to the second Team Academic All-State Team.

Sophomore Lauren Mansfield became only the fifth female to qualify for State in the history of Argyle High School. She set a personal record in the Squat (370lb) and Bench (145lb) and failed to complete the deadlift. She had a fantastic season in her first competitive year in powerlifting.
