On Monday May 6, sophomores, juniors, and a couple select seniors were inducted into the Argyle chapter of the National Honor Society. The ceremony was held by Principal Jeff Butts, sponsor Jennifer Fischer, President Buckley Wallace, Vice President Sam Ramirez, Historian Bridget Church, Secretary Kara Peak, Volunteer Coordinator Kylie Holt, Treasurer Caroline Klapp, and Event Coordinator Nate Graf.
The National Honor Society strives to create character, scholarship, leadership, and service in it’s members. To be inducted, students must have a 3.7 GPA or greater. Last night, students were inducted under this standard, and also as transfer inductees from other schools and honorary inductees, in which a student is inducted as a senior. Once inducted, a minimum of fifteen volunteer hours must be completed and verified each year.
Senior officers are elected by their peers. This will take place in the beginning of the academic school year.
