Delaney Sain, former post player for the 2015 girls’ basketball state team, was invited to play in the Texas Hall of Fame Shootout at the Baylor University’s Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas on May 2, 2015.

The players in the shootout are chosen by members of the Texas Hall of Fame committee, and are among the best of the best in high school basketball.

“Being chosen and playing with some amazing players throughout Texas was an honor,” Sain said.

The teams are divided up by a red and blue team.

Sain contributed 12 points for the 82-78 win over the opponent team.

“It was definitely neat being a part of something that not many people get to experience,” Sain said.

The former post player will be attending Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado this fall.

This upcoming weekend, several Lady Eagles will be recognized at the All Star Banquet including Coach Skip Townsend, in San Antonio, Texas.

Sain has also been selected by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, or TABC, to play in the All Star Game, Friday July 17, at the Burger Activity Center, in Austin, Texas.

“It was a fun experience and I’m lucky enough to get to do it a few more times,” Sain said.
