Last time Argyle alum Ian Sadler played a football game at AT&T Stadium he rolled up 109 yards rushing, 73 yards receiving, 3 touchdowns, and a state championship. He wore the number ‘5’ and ‘Argyle’ on his jersey. Today he returned to ‘Jerry’s World’ wearing jersey number 12 and ‘Texas Tech’ embroidered on the front. He caught 3 passes for 45 yards for Texas Tech in their 48-46 loss to Baylor (6). Texas Tech out-gained Baylor 707 to 547 yards, but in the end it came down to a 2 point conversion that Tech could not complete. Baylor recovered the ensuing onside kick, kneed the ball, and took the victory.

Despite the poor season for Texas Tech, Sadler is already making some heads turn in Lubbock.

Although Texas Tech’s season has been dismal, finishing 4-8 on the year, they have several other strong up-and-coming freshmen besides Sadler to lead the program in the future, specifically true freshman quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
