February Character Counts Nominations

February+Character+Counts+Nominations

The Character Counts’ traits for the month of February were punctuality and responsibility. Teachers were asked to nominate a student they believe displays those qualities best. Staff members were then invited to vote to choose a top nominee. The top nominee for the month was Matt Garnett.

Here are what anonymous teachers commented about the nominated students:

Matt Garnett- “Matt demonstrates responsibility and punctuality every day.  Since his freshman year, he has been relentless in his desire to do well and be responsible. He is at school before 8 am every day and spends 30 hours a week on school programs and events, and his work ethic, and punctuality are unmatched.”

Luis Perez Salazar- “Always the first one in the class and works very hard from bell to bell. If he is going to be absent, he communicates beforehand to get makeup work.”

Molly Sheridan- “Molly thoroughly works out every problem assigned all year including the extra credit or problems not assigned, typically two days ahead of the lesson plans. She also tutors students around her.”

Kenna Roberts- “Kenna’s character does not change from one setting to the next. She worked over the summer as a nanny and demonstrated responsibility in the way she cared for the kids. Kenna made it her responsibility to help a student every morning find her locker and classroom.”

Alyssa Woolums- “Alyssa comes to class on time daily. She is diligent with her work and is trustworthy with tasks in and outside of the regular classroom.”

Logan Sommers- “Logan is an exceptional student who is always punctual to class and getting her assignments completed by the deadline. She is very mature and responsible for her age. Her character, compassion, and discipline will make her an excellent nurse.”

Sam Webb- “A very quiet, young man who works hard and achieves at the highest level. He is consistently punctual and prepared. He wants to take on responsibilities within school programs.”

Justin Litherland- “He is on time every day and early most days. He is such an excellent student and person that his character should be recognized.”

Carol Garcia- “Carol always goes above and beyond what is asked of her. She shows responsibility by doing each assignment with excellence. She is joy to have in class and her character is amazing.”

Kelsey Landrum- “Kelsey always has the meeting agenda for Challenge Day ready and aides in Eagles Helping Eaglets and other school programs. She is dependable and ready to help whenever.”
