On Friday, April 5, and Monday, April 8, the Argyle Eagle and Lady Eagle golf teams competed at the District 8-4A tournament at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch. All three teams will advance to the regional tournament.

The girl’s varsity team placed first in the tournament with a team score of 679, there was a 202 stroke difference

between the varsity and the second place Argyle JV team. The girl’s varsity team also had the top three individual

scores overall in the tournament. Finishing in first place, junior Hannah Wood had an overall score of +14, highlighted by a 76, +4, day one score. Second place belonged to freshman Katie Garner, shot an 86 on day one, and an 84 on day two, to have a weekend score of +26. With a 93 on Friday and an 83 on Monday, senior Molly Yarbrough placed third with a +32. Other finishers include Madelyn Diomede, fourth, Kenize Sullivan, tied for fifth, Sarah Greiner, seventh, and Reese Underwood, ninth. Both girls varsity and JV teams will move on to the regional tournament.

The boy’s team also placed first as a team with a team score of 607, 52 strokes better than the second place Decatur team. Senior Logan Diomede won first place individually, shooting even with a score of 144. That was because of an excellent first day where he shot -2. Senior Isaiah Brevich, who also had a -2 on day one, placed second with a +2. With a -1 on the second day, sophomore Justus Christman placed third with a +6 score. Other finishers were sophomore Blake Kelly, tied for sixth, and freshman Zane Griggs, ninth.

The girl’s regional tournament will be played at the Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas, on April 22-23. Tee times TBD. The boy’s regional tournament will also be played at the Shadow Hills Golf Course, on April 24-25. Tee times TBD.
