Since releasing her newest album, Thank U, Next on Feb. 8, singer/songwriter Ariana Grande has received lots of positive feedback, with many longtime fans claiming this to be her best album to date. Two of the most popular songs on the album, Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored and Thank U, Next, hit number one in their respective categories and made Grande the third female artist to ever have two or more songs debut on top of the Hot 100. Thank U, Next also broke the record for most plays in a single day on Spotify by a female artist.

Grande’s most recent album is arguably her most emotional album yet, released after the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. I found the album very different, not only because of the music itself but also because of the messages conveyed in each song. Her song Thank U, Next discusses her past lovers and how she has grown as a person because of each one. Her song 7 Rings samples These Are A Few of my Favorite Things from “The Sound of Music.” Grande’s song also expresses making memories with close friends.

Overall, this album was unlike any of her previous ones and for that reason, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Grande’s strong vocal range and unique spin on each song make this album one to remember. Fans can say Thank U, Next and look forward to Grande’s next album.
