Lauren Landrum, Editor In Chief/Broadcast Director

Lauren Landrum is the Editor In Chief, lead broadcast anchor, and a reporting videographer. She focuses on news, entertainment, feature stories, and documentaries. Lauren has won awards for portrait photography, feature stories, and was a member of the national winning broadcast team. She also is a part of the Journalism UIL team and is a back-to-back state documentary film winner. Outside of class, she is involved with NHS and YoungLife. Lauren loves long walks on the beach, CFA chicken minis, Netflix, and traveling with her journalism fam. (:

Carly Haynes, Broadcast Director

Carly Haynes is a senior at Argyle High School. She is the Broadcast Director with Lauren Landrum. Aside from broadcast, Carly is involved as Thespian president, UNICEF president, the president of the 2019 senior class, in NHS, UIL fiction film and prose, and Student Council. You will most likely see Carly acting, singing, doing ballet, tap, or jazz, playing piano/guitar, jamming to music, hanging with friends and family, or writing music!

Hannah Wood, Webmaster/ Online Editor

Hannah Wood is the Webmaster and a reporter for The Talon News. She reports News, Sports, Feature, and Entertainment packages for The Talon News Broadcast. Hannah created a multimedia package over a phishing scam and won first place in News Reporting at the Dallas Morning News Journalism Day. Hannah has also won multiple first place metals for video packages through ILPC.  In her free time, Hannah enjoys playing golf and is a part of Student Council and NHS. Hannah loves IHOP’s 2x2x2, hiking in the mountains, and hanging with her journalism fam. 🙂

Jake Pool, Reporter

Jake Pool is excited to spend his second year with The Talon News. Jake loves taking pictures, as well as being on Broadcast. He shares a love for cameras and editing with many of his friends on staff. He has travelled to many sporting events and conventions in Texas and New York. Jake loves Orange is the New Black marathons, hiking with friends, travelling with the journalism team, and drinking insane amounts of red bull.

Claire Burkett, Reporter

Claire Burkett specializes in recipe reviews and broadcast reporting for The Talon News. Outside of The Talon Claire is apart of the Marching Band, NHS, Gracepoint Church leadership and is a server at Bumbershoots. In her free time, Claire enjoys frequent shopping trips to Target, binging romantic 80’s movies, and reading endless amounts of celebrity gossip.

Kayla Ralph, Reporter

Kayla Ralph is a reporter for The Talon News and a sophomore in high school. Kayla enjoyed her freshman year on staff and is excited for her years to come. She typically writes feature and review articles, along with filming and editing for the broadcast. Outside of The Talon, Kayla is involved in Young Life, Student Council, and Challenge Day Club. Besides writing and filming, Kayla is a competitive dancer and a kit kat enthusiast.
