Great Water Parks for the Summer

Avery Austin, Reporter

Over the summer as the weather gets hot, a great way to cool off is by going to water parks. Water parks are fun to go to with family or a group of friends. There are tons of water slides to choose from, and if you don’t want to get into the water, you can always relax next to the pool and still get a tan. Here are some great water parks.

Burger’s Lake: This water park is located in Fort Worth, Texas, so it’s not too far of a drive from Argyle. It is a spring-fed water park, so the water is always very cold. Although it’s not a traditional water park, it does have diving boards, a 20-foot slide, and a 25-foot trapeze. There are also beaches that you can lay on and tan. The lake is surrounded by trees, so there is shade for you to sit under, as well.

Great Wolf Lodge: If you are wanting to get out of the summer heat, Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to go. It is located in Grapevine, Texas, and offers an indoor and outdoor water park. To be able to get into the water park, you have to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. However, the stay is well worth it. The water park includes attractions that are fun for the whole family. The most popular slide is the Howlin’ Tornado; it has a drop that is six stories high.

NRH2O: NRH2O is located in North Richland Hills, Texas. It offers slides for single riders and multiple riders. NRH2O is great for the whole family. It offers a wave pool and a lazy river along with multiple slides. This water park gives people many options depending on their likes and dislikes.

Hawaiian Falls: There are many Hawaiian Falls located around Texas, but the closest park to Argyle is in Roanoke. If you are not wanting to travel far from home, this would be the best water park to go to. This park offers a whole area for little kids to play with multiple water slides for kids to use. It also offers many slides for group riders.
