Argyle is a community filled with family, friends, humble  students, a great teaching staff, and many activities to choose from.

As yet another athletic, outstanding and ambitious group of seniors are preparing to graduate, they reminisce on the traditions they have gone through and await those that are yet to come.

“I’ve enjoyed some traditions in high school like the dances, mums, homecoming parades, pep rallies, and football games.” senior Kennedy Cullum said.

Some traditions in Argyle come in seasons.

During the fall football season, Whataburger is a common hang out place after Friday night football games.

A pep rally is held almost every Friday, celebrating the events going on that week which is a fun way to get the whole school participating.

The cheerleaders work hard to prepare a theme that matches with the football opponent for that week, such as “Wipeout the Wildcats”.

Some events, however, have changed over the years.

Homecoming has been altered  to a more casual hang out party after the football game rather than a formal dance.

“My favorite tradition is Whataburger after the football games and really just football season in general,” senior Maddy Haynes said. “I think that our class has really stepped up and tried to make our school more spirited, so I’m hoping that once our class graduates the tradition won’t die off.”

As Argyle is growing in student size, the opportunity becomes greater to participate and be active in groups  such as UNICEF Club and Challenge Day Club.

Project graduation, the rose ceremony, and most importantly, the graduation ceremony are what every senior looks forward to all year.

“This year, I’m looking forward to project graduation and graduating in general,” Haynes said.  “At any event, I try to be there and enjoy it because I know it’s the last year that I get the chance to do that stuff.”

Although sports and championships are well known in Argyle, it’s the memories, crowd, student section, and the Friday nights that come along with it.

“I think back on all the football games and the drives with friends on the way to those games,” senior Henry Jefferies said. “I enjoyed doing the ‘we won’ chant on the way back from the baseball games too.”
