The Argyle boys golf team hold true to their brand, by finishing out day one of the state tournament in the lead. They lead the 4A tournament with a team score of 300, Alex Isakson and Lance Roden are tied for first with individual scores of  73. The lead the boys hold is being chased by number two Fredericksburg, who has a team score of 306. With such a close score who takes the state title is still a toss up. The Lady Eagles continue to pursue the same goal, while trying to close the 85 stroke deficit between them and number one ranked Andrews. Their combined score of 405 has placed them ninth out of twelve teams. Senior, Leyton King, gave it all she had, shooting her possible personal low of 89 today. With the second, and final day of the UIL State Golf Tournament still to come, a chance to recover and place at their first state appearance, is still an option.

This announcement will be updated after tomorrow’s round.
