Last Saturday, September 30, “Goober Bub’s” strawberry farm, owned by Teacher Jeanna Sutton and her family, opened their brand new pumpkin patch, for the first year ever. Just in time for the fall season, the pumpkin patch offers a vast selection of pumpkins, fun games, seasonal baked goods, and more. Visitors can find the farm off of Eaken Cemetery Road in Justin, TX.

The Sutton family values the close-knit community of Argyle and hopes that the pumpkin patch will give local families the opportunity to celebrate the new season.

“My favorite thing about the pumpkin patch is watching families enjoy the time together,” Sutton said. “They come out and get some goodies from the bakery and then just let their kids play around for a bit. Some of them take a ride on the hayride out to the patch, and it’s just so sweet to see families having fun being outside together making sweet memories.”

Students can attest to making memories at the pumpkin patch as well.

“I greatly enjoyed going to Goober Bub’s pumpkin patch because there was a great variety of activities to do,” Senior Cate Clark said. “I loved getting to try their delicious pumpkin-baked goods while roaming around the pumpkin patch.”

The pumpkin patch sets itself apart from other local seasonal events in many ways.

“We are one of the very few farms that actually grow our own pumpkins,” Sutton said. “We have a very large trailer that can fit around 70 people on it, so lots of families can enjoy a ride at once. Our bakery is run by my daughter-in-law and my niece, and they make such delicious pumpkin treats!”

The bakery was a huge hit among visitors.

“I found the bakery to be a very nice surprise that is not common at many pumpkin patch’s and is great for the customers to enjoy,” Clark said.

Although Goober Bubs is starting up its fall tradition, the business is a strawberry farm first.

“Goober Bub’s is truly a dream come true,” Sutton said. “My husband had dreamed of owning a farm for years, and I just encouraged him to take the risk. It has been a fun family adventure. My son and daughter and their spouses help us so much, and it is so much fun to work out there as a family.”
