On Friday, Jan. 12, the 16-6 Varsity Eagles, led by Coach Russell Perkins, started their district schedule against the 10-10 Decatur Eagles, led by Coach Billy Macklin.

The Decatur Eagles are going to try to get above .500 and continue a five game winning streak that started in their non-district schedule. The Eagles are going to do whatever it takes to win this year and continue to rise and make it to the playoffs.

Going into the game, starters Brandon White and Max Valentino, are the leading scorers for the team with Luke Feely as the paint protector. Wilson Peltier and Koy Randall will be the leaders off the bench.

The game was not high scoring, a combined total of 68 points, but in crunch, time it was down to the wire. When a big play were needed the most, Brandon White and Luke Feely came through. On the final play, Brandon White threw an excellently timed alley-oop pass to center Luke Feely to win in regulation 35-33.

The Eagles protected home court and started the district schedule on a high note against the Decatur Eagles.

The Eagles will try to protect home court again on Tuesday, Jan. 16, against the Gainesville Leopards. Also, be sure to support the Eagles through the rest of the district schedule.
