The Argyle theater department proudly presents their newest show, Little Shop of Horrors.

“The new musical director, Mr. Brown, was really good to work with.” Junior Alex Peters said. “This production was my first musical at Argyle and I didn’t know what to expect coming into it, but I had a blast.”

Little Shop of Horrors is based on a city boy, Seymour, who has done nothing but work his whole life after his boss took him in as a little boy. After Seymour comes across a strange and unusual plant one day, Alex and his good friend and co worker, Audrey, convince the boss to get business booming by setting this extraordinary plant in the store window.

“When you’re in theater and learning the roll, music, and choreography, you really get close to everyone around you.” Junior Madison Darnell said. “There’s so much work that goes into it during and after school everyday, but it’s definitely all worth it putting together this awesome show.”

Little Shop of Horrors showed Thursday January 21 at seven, and again on Friday at seven and Saturday at six. Adults and students were both welcomed, shortly past the auditorium foyer, with decorations and props made by theatre tech and art classes.

“After a few shows I never really got nervous anymore,” Darnell said. “I just get really excited and all of that nervousness turns into excitement.”

Little Shop of Horrors is full of life, singing, acting, live music, and special effects the audience will love.

“I was blown away at the professionalism of the directors, tech work and talent in the theatre department,” Peters said. “I have learned things I’ll use for the rest of my life and I can’t wait for next years musical.”
