Downtown Denton has become a hangout for the local hipsters with its unique coffee shops and quaint book stores. And now, to add to it’s appeal, a Bohemian, chic clothing and jewelry store has opened just outside of the square,  Juliet’s Jewels.

The store is in a renovated home, standing out with its colorful flags and painted artwork in the front yard. Immediately when you enter, you’re offered a cup of freshly made tea by the worker on duty. The store has a peaceful aroma with lit incense on both the first and second floors. Meditation music plays throughout the store to further improve your experience.

The jewelry is, certainly, the focus of the store. The majority of the gems are handcrafted and imported from either India, Tibet, or Thailand. The prices range from $20-$200 for especially detailed and expensive jewels, but most of the jewelry is about $35-$50. There are rings, necklaces, bracelets, and anklets in nearly every color and various sizes. The quality is amazing and the pieces are simple yet very beautiful.

Juliet’s Jewels also imports various clothes from the same countries, which creates an extensive wardrobe. There are pants, shirts, headbands, dresses, skirts, and just about every other type of clothing you could imagine. Although tie-dye is a popular pattern in the store, most of the clothes are relaxing colors. The material isn’t especially soft, but it’s durable and nicely fitting.

On the second floor of the store, you’ll find a large selection of tapestries, many with Bohemian designs and Hindu symbols. The sizes of the tapestries come in small, medium and large, in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Incense, candles, key chains, and other miscellaneous items are for sale around the store.

The store is located at 315 West Sycamore St., Denton, TX 76201. It’s open from 10:00 am-6:00 pm on Monday-Saturday and closed on Sundays.
