Famous ‘Hoppin’ Burger Restaurant Moves to Dallas
September 23, 2015
It goes without saying that Texas knows how to make a good burger. If you’ve ever been to South Congress street in Austin, you’ve most likely heard of, or tried, the famous Hopdoddy Burger Bar, where the lines always wrap around the building. This popular burger joint has made its way to Dallas and has already started some buzz in the DFW area.
Upon tasting the newly arrived joint, I was pleased to discover that there were minimal differences from the original Austin restaurant. When I first tried Hopdoddy on South Congress, I fell in love with the fresh, flavorful garlic fries and have been craving them ever since. My crave was finally satisfied when I ordered the same fries in the Dallas restaurant. They made a perfect and savory side for the tasty burgers. Occasionally waiters will serve samples of the fries to the line of people awaiting a table.
With the restaurants quick popularity, you can assume it’s not just the fries that keep the crowds coming. The traditional juicy burger comes with lettuce, onion, tomato, “sassy sauce” (mayo, horseradish and mustard), cheese, and bacon. The buns are fluffy, warm, and a perfect to compliment the meat. There are a few more adventurous options, but because I’ve only had the opportunity to get down to Dallas once since the opening, I’ve yet to try them.
The lines tend to stay pretty long throughout the day, but the friendly service helps to ease the wait. Waiters will walk around, checking to make sure their customers are content with the food and the service.
For extreme burger lovers, the newly opened Hopdoddy does not disappoint. The fries, burgers, and service all makes for a perfect excuse to take a trip to Dallas. The restaurant is located at 6030 Luther Lane, Dallas. They’re opened from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
