The Eagles had their second pep-rally of the school year in their main gym after a cross country meet and before a football game against the Graham Steers.

“It feels great being acknowledged at the pep-rallies,” varsity cross country runner Madison Peltier said.

After the Eagles’ cross country, volleyball, and football teams walked out to their seats, the pep-rally officially started. After about four months, Coach Griffin and the rest of the baseball team were acknowledged for winning the state title this summer. Each player received their state championship rings from Dr. Wright and Coach Griffin, and they were praised by the school body who were bestowed with their name, number, and position.

“Some of them today came all the way from college where they are playing baseball, and the rest of them are ready to win another State Championship,” Coach Griffin said.

After a few stunts and cheers from the cheerleaders, Reign Bach, Maddy Haynes, Preston List, Emma Malone, and Blaze McMellian participated in a game called ‘Finish the Lyrics’. A song was played over a speaker, and the participants would raise their hands if they knew it, state the movie, and sing the rest of the song. The game started with “The Best of Both Worlds” from Hannah Montana; The Movie with Emma Malone finishing the lyrics, followed by, “Let it Go” from Frozen with Reign Bach, who sang in her Elsa dress; then came “Strut” from The Cheetah Girls with a duet from Maddy Haynes and Emma Malone; and afterwards, “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical started and Reign Bach answered again. But topping the performances at the end came an unexpected performance from Preston List, who at the end took it home, and won the game to lots of cheering from the crowd.

After some more cheering and stunts the pep-rally ended with the a reminder about the new IAC ribbon cutting at six that afternoon before the football game against the Steers.
