Anime Club is an art club that brings together students who are interested in anime and the manga art style.

High school art teacher Mrs. Kosla mentions some of the cool activities that students participate in during anime club meetings.

“In our Tuesday meetings students create costumes, characters, learn how to draw in manga style, and learn about Japanese culture.” Kosla said.

The students participate in arts and watch anime films. They also talk about books and online stories that are anime based.  Sometimes they even do fun games like competitions with chopsticks to see who has the best Japanese culture skills.

One student in the club, Garrett Blodgett, has been in anime club since last year when his sister created the club. Garrett, like most other students in the anime club, has had an interest in anime and manga long before the club started.

“Anime club is really cool because not everybody likes anime,” Blodgett said. “So it’s pretty awesome to get to meet people with the same interests and just hang out and have fun.”

The anime club is yearlong and accepts anyone who wants to become a member so if you or any students are interested just contact Mrs. Kosla or show up to a Tuesday meeting at 4:00 after school.
