Argyle ISD High School Students with Perfect Attendance can Strive To Drive! One lucky student will win a FREE CAR!

One lucky Student from Argyle ISD High School will have the opportunity to win a FREE Car this year courtesy of Waxahachie Autoplex Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ford, Ram. Students from Argyle High School will have the opportunity to qualify for tickets to place in a drawing at the end of the school year by striving for perfect attendance each six weeks of school. In May, ten finalists will be drawn. Each will receive a key. Only one key will start the car!

Waxahachie Autoplex has teamed up with Strive to Drive TX in an all out effort to educate students in Argyle ISD and their parents on the importance of being in class, as attendance has a direct affect on academic performance. Research conducted at the Bureau of Educational Research in Illinois, shows that consistent school attendance is directly linked to positive behavior, increased participation in extracurricular activities, higher grades and higher overall educational outcomes.

Tips for good attendance include: Getting to school on time every day and staying every day, all day. Monitoring your child’s attendance on the school’s parent portal; Working with your health-care providers to schedule regular doctor visits during non-school hours; and following proper guidelines for reporting excused absences in a timely manner.

How does the Strive to Drive TX Program work?
• Students must be enrolled in Argyle ISD for the entire nine-week grading period to participate
• Students may earn 1 Ticket per nine-week grading period for Perfect Attendance
• Students may earn 5 Tickets per semester for Perfect Attendance (Fall and Spring)
• Students may earn 10 Tickets for the full Year for Perfect Attendance
• Students may earn a maximum of 24 Tickets for the year
• The District will utilize state guidelines for reporting Average Daily Attendance to determine perfect attendance contest eligibility.
