Head girl’s basketball coach Skip Townsend achieved his 1,000th game win of his career last Tuesday, Feb. 3rd.

The 1,000th win was played against the Sanger Indians at the Eagles home gym.

“It was really fun to be apart of his accomplishment!” senior Jesse Sheridan said. “I remember when he got his 900th win my freshman year, I told him I would get him his 1,000th, so it was a special moment when the goal really came true.”

Coach Townsend’s first head coaching job occurred in Slidell, Texas, before he achieved his six state titles coaching the Brock Eagles.

“We hired Coach Townsend in 2011,” Athletic Director Todd Rodgers said, “He has been successful ever since and we’re real lucky to have him.”

He led the Argyle Lady Eagles to be state runner ups in the 2014 season, coming up short to Waco La Vega.

“I couldn’t have done it without all the coaching staff and players who put in the work to get me here,” head coach Skip Townsend said.

The players and coaches all work hard everyday to help make the team better every chance they get.

“I’m proud to be apart of this team,” sophomore Vivian Gray said. “We’re happy we could help him reach this goal!”
