On homecoming weekend, the Eagles dominated Dallas Wilmer Hutchins high school from beginning to end with a final score of 65-7. During the first half, Argyle outscored their opponent 44-0, while the backup players continued the performance with a 21-7 score throughout the second half as they ran the clock.

The rushing game was dominant as RB Nick Ralston scored the teams first two touchdowns for 39 and 36 yards respectively.

“We had a good game plan coming in,” Ralston said. “The lineman played really well, the receivers blocked really well down field, everyone was making plays all over the field. Overall, our offense played awesome.”

Argyle was also able to pass effectively with the WR Drew Estrada catching two of the first team’s passing touchdowns.

“It was good,” QB Cooper Rodgers said. “Even in a game like this against maybe a not so great opponent it’s good to be able to come out, get the work done that needs to be done and get the win.”

Once Rodgers and the rest of the starters left the game, usual starting WR and safety Dane Ledford stepped in at QB and led the backups for the rest of the game.

“Dane Ledford is a great athlete,” Rodgers said. “I feel like he’s going to be able to fill my role and out do me when I graduate.”

The defense has noticeably improved over the past few games. This showed when they shut out the opposing offense minus a garbage time touchdown.

“They are just getting better week after week,” Ralston said. “They did a really good job tonight.”

The players and the fans were especially excited about the end of the game since it signaled the beginning of the homecoming dance.

“It’s just another game,” Ralston said, “But I’m gonna go get turnt at the dance, so it feels pretty good.”
