The Eagles celebrated Halloween in their own way, beating the Dallas Princeton Vikings 65-14 on senior night. The stands were packed with parent and students, who were treated to a one-sided contest in favor of their home team, along with a special half time performance by the Argyle band dressed in costumes.

The Eagles have now won three straight games by a margin of 40 or more points to increase their win streak to a school record 25 straight.

“We definitely have some momentum,” center Austin Bergstrom said. “We’re pretty confident and hopefully we can keep our composure and do well.”

The game was essentially over by half time, as RB Gage McCook and QB Cooper Rodgers led the way to a 44-0 lead through two quarters.

“We did good,” DB Dane Ledford said. “We kept pushing on them, we never let up, and just played really good football. We got up on them quick, so it’s great that some of those seniors on second team got to play.”

One of those seniors was backup RB Chase Carrick, who came in and and scored two of Argyle’s three second half touchdowns.

“It felt great,” Carrick said. “I’m so ecstatic about this game and I’m really proud of my team. I feel so happy right now.”

The offensive linemen continue to pave the way for whatever running back the coaches put in, and they are a big reason for the team’s playoff hopes.

“I have so much faith in them,” Carrick said. “I’m so excited and I love all of them. I feel like we have a great shot at state, because we’re a great team with great charisma, so I’m confident we’ll make it all the way.”

Argyle hopes that they can continue their win streak next week as they travel to face off against their rival Sanger high school.

“Sanger is going to be better so we just have to prepare,” Ledford said. “We’ll plan like we’ve been doing, and keep getting better each week.”
