Despite scheduling complications brought on by a severe ice storm, the Eagles had no trouble putting the hurt on the Gladewater Bears, making them the UIL State Football Quarterfinal champions. Nick Ralston and Ian Sadler dominated for much of the game, both scoring two touchdowns. Connor Wilson and Colton Hinnrichs each scored a touchdown as well. Hunter Treadwell, Reese Thompson, and Reagan Page also played superbly on the defense and limited the Bears to a single score throughout the game. The final score was 42-8.
Meanwhile, in Sweetwater, the Graham Steers thrashed the Shallowater Mustangs 45-14. This makes the Steers the Eagles’ final opponents before the UIL State Championship game. The Eagles and Steers will face off on Dec. 14 at Northwest ISD Stadium in Justin, Texas, with kickoff at 6 p.m.
The season’s coming to a close, so come on out support the Eagles in their fight to the championships!
