This past weekend, the varsity tennis team traveled to Wichita Falls to play a double match against rivals Iowa Park and Burkburnett, who they will also play in the Spring at Regionals and State. The Eagles did not do as well as hoped this Saturday, but with more practice, Coach Balderas believes they will be ready for the competition in the Spring.
“I expect us to get better as a team and individuals,” Balderas said. “I plan on working the team more on the net because it seems to be our biggest weakness.”
With former state qualifier Jack Vickery on the team, there are high expectations for great performance in the Spring competition.
The team travels to Kaufman tomorrow and then to Vernon this Saturday in hopes of redeeming themselves for success in the Spring.
