Typically, in Phyllis Clark’s Pre-Ap Geometry classes students are seated in desks, but this week is much different. They have been flying kites.
The students have been working on their geometric kites outside of class for six weeks and this week they finally get to put their kites to the skies.
“I finished my kite at 5:30 the morning it was due because my first try didn’t work,” freshman Addie Adkins said.
Another student tried seven kites before she could create a kite that would earn her the thirty points she needed by flying.
“It’s a good way of bringing the geometry skills together,” Ms. Clark said. “And is a good end of the year review. It also gives them time after the EOC to release their frustrations and just fly a kite.”
