Each year the Argyle Education foundation goes on a quest to find the best and the brightest teachers in the district, and all of this is made possible because of an endowment provided by the Lisa M Zimmerman foundation, which funds the Golden Teacher Excellence awards each year. Each campus level teacher is awarded a small monetary prize for their campus win, and the district teacher is awarded a larger sum of money each year.
The Golden Eagle Teacher Excellence Award is a community-wide nominating process where fellow teachers, administrators and community members may nominate teachers in recognition of their teaching excellence. The teacher nominations are reviewed by an independent panel of judges from outside the district.
This year nominees from the four campuses were narrowed down to the final campus winners: Nancy Nytomt of Hilltop Elementary, Vicki Netzelman, Trevor Baker of Argyle Middle School, and Stacy Short of Argyle High School.
This year two representatives will move on to represent Argyle ISD at the regional level for teacher of the year. Nytomt will go forth as the K-6th grade representative, and Baker will go on to represent the region for the secondary level.
Congratulations to all of the Golden Teacher of Excellence award winners.
