The Guide to Overcome the Stress of Final Exams

We’ve all experienced it: the stress that inevitably comes with taking final exams. Whether they have been studying for days, or decide to cram the night before the test, most students are nervous for there final tests of the semester. However, there are a few tactics to overcome the stress of studying and still be able to retain all of the information needed to do well on those exams.

Tips:

Study over a few days rather than cramming the night before the exam.

Study for 20 minutes, take a 5 minute break, then study some more. Studies show that the brain needs some rest in order to memorize as much as possible, and cramming actually makes the brain forget information so you have to keep studying.

Before you begin studying, take a walk or run, get some exercise. Getting your blood pumping and some oxygen flowing to your brain will increase its ability to function and it will help you study better.

And finally, get a good night’s rest the night before the exam and eat a nutritious breakfast. Just like in sports, the body needs energy in order to preform well on exams.

Happy Exam Week!
