The middle school started construction last week for Phase Two of construction: the high school.
The construction’s main purpose is to add to the existing fine arts wing. It will include a black box, an 800-plus seating auditorium, a competition gym, a wrestling room, a field house, a football field, practice baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, an additional classroom wing, an administration addition, more parking for students, and additions to the existing band hall.
The construction has closed access to the doors by the band hall used by band students and athletics causing students to have to go in and out through the main entrance only. The construction is planned to take two years.
The next phase of construction will include additions to the science lab and expanding the counseling department. With all the construction, the main goal is to have the middle school ready to switch to being the high school in 2021.
