The Eagles soccer team is on their way to an area playoff match-up with Midlothian Heritage at the Birdville ISD Athletic Complex at 8 p.m. tomorrow. After posting a 15-5-2 record the Eagles have certainly earned their second round bye. The Eagles have been lead by Connor Banar who lead the team with 27 goals. The Eagles have been averaging over three goals per match and scored over 10 goals in their game against Springtown.

“We had a good, solid year finishing behind a talented Gainesville team,” senior Isaac Aguilar said. “But now the season stars over again.”

The Eagles will play the Midlothian Heritage team, who has been dominating this season, winning by almost four goals a game.  Scoring 84 on the year, the team can score with the best of them. Senior goalie Chase Book will have his work cut out for them, but the defense is ready.

“Both of them are good teams,” Aguilar said, “but you have to be at this stage.”

The girls soccer team will face familiar foe Kennedale in the area round of playoffs tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Southlake Dragon Stadium. The team has a 8-10-2 record but did well enough to earn a first round bye after losing their two leading scorers after last year. The team has been led by Sophie Young who will continue to lead the team in years to come.
