The theatre club held the inaugural fundraiser at the Denton Country Club on May 21. The fundraiser was a huge success.

“We are raising funds for our next musical and to send students to the state Thespian convention next fall,” said theater teacher Melissa Toomer.

The murder mystery dinner was put together in the span of one month, and the show was titled Dinner at Eight, Dead by Nine.

The show sold out tickets in just five days, and the theater club is planning on hosting another show in the fall since this one was such a huge success.

“Theatre has been a huge blessing this year,” new-comer junior Alex Peters said. “They all have welcomed me in with open arms and allowed me to become apart of the family. This year has been the most successful in the history of the theatre department, and I accredit that to everyone’s ability to adapt and change.”

The club was very successful and are excited about future shows.

“The directors have been able to handle us at our worst and still pull out amazing shows and continue to push us every day,” Peters said.
