Girls Soccer Season Recap

May 5, 2016

The girls soccer program has had many changes, the biggest being new girls soccer coach Marc Koke. He was able to transform and lead the team to make school history in becoming area champs.

“Having a new coach was a good change,” sophomore Hannah Gladys said. “Coach Koke really put a lot of effort into us and wanted the best for us. He believed in us and gave us his all by putting in extra effort and extra hours to make sure we did our best.”

Aside from the positive changes that Koke brought, another factor that helped the girls this year was friendship.

“This year we were all so close,” senior Makenna White said. “The chemistry was there between [everyone] because we hung out outside of school.”

The girls credited their success in the each member’s willingness to work hard.

“I feel that everyone was dedicated and determined to give it their all and go as far as possible,” Gladys said. “Soccer was an easy way for people to interact and understand each other through a sport.”

Because the area champs will only be losing one senior, and the team hopes to continue their wins in next year’s season.
