The archery team had an astounding season over the 2015 and 2016 school year. The team recently took a team trip to Kentucky to compete in the Louisville Nationals Tournament at the Kentucky Exposition and Fairgrounds Center May 12-14.

The archers practice twice a week; Mondays and Thursdays at the Argyle Archery Arena, behind the Argyle Intermediate school.

“I am looking forward to having more high school students trying out for the team so we can qualify for state which is held in at the Bell Expo Center in Belton, Texas.” Coach and art teacher Ms. Kosla said. “I believe we will be able to qualify for nationals again since we have some strong archers returning next year. My ultimate goal is for our team to shoot well enough to qualify for the world tournament.”

There is a wide variety of students that participated in archery throughout this season and are already preparing for next year. Archery members have given hours of time and dedication for this tournament.

“I didn’t do as good as I could have done,” Senior Alec Lenamon said. “But it was a really fun experience.”

Although the archery team has lost an outstanding shooter, the upcoming archers are hard workers and ready to begin the rest of their high school careers.

“I love archery because I like shooting bows and I have gotten to meet a lot of cool people along the way.” Lenamon. “Its allowed me to travel a few places and I really enjoyed doing it.”
