The Eagles defeated the Dallas Carter Cowboys in the Argyle stadium after a two hour rain delay on Homecoming Night.

In the first quarter with 10:19 left, the Eagles scored the first touchdown of the game. Matthew Horton (49) scored another touchdown with 6:56 left in the first quarter. The Eagles continued to increase their lead on Carter during the first quarter, ending it with a score of 28-0.

“It was kind of hard to keep your footing,” Shane McKinney (42) said.

The second quarter began, and the possession of the ball went back and forth between the two teams. With 8:50 left in the second quarter, Gage McCook (5) scored a touchdown, increasing the Eagles lead to 35-0. With under five minutes left in the second quarter, Carter scored a touchdown on the Eagles, making the score 25-7 at the half.

“The rain made it pretty slippery running around everywhere,” McKinney said.

During halftime, the homecoming princes, princesses, and king and queen nominees were recognized; the 2015 Homecoming King and Queen were announced. The king was Tanner Boyzuick, and the queen was Claire Despain.

In the second half, McCook scored another touchdown with three minutes left in the third quarter, making the score 49-7. Possession of the ball went back and forth between the two teams without scoring. The third quarter ended with the Eagles maintaining a 49-7 lead.

“It wasn’t too difficult because it wasn’t raining the whole time, so it was pretty easy,” McKinney said.

With nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, Carter scored, making the score 49-14. After one more touchdown by Carter, the game ended with the Eagles on top at 49-21. Their next game will be against Dallas Pinkston in Dallas.
