DESTINY – A Game For the Ages

For the 2013 Argyle Eagles football team, losing was not an option. Even in fourth grade, their youth Coach, Klip Weaver, could tell that they had something special. Through years of trials and tribulations, Argyle came from almost nothing to being a 3A football powerhouse. For Head Coach Todd Rodgers, it was an especially emotional year. On August 5, 2013, just before the first practice of two-a-days, Rodgers received a call that his father had passed away. As a team, the Eagles bonded together and made the decision to play in Coach Rodgers’ father’s honor. Through a season of challenges and injuries, the team persevered and excelled. The Eagles finished their season 16-0 and brought home Argyle’s first ever football state championship.
