After spreading his wings and soaring to College Station where he received a Bachelors of science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University, Argyle Alumni Lance Sutton has returned to the nest.

Sutton didn’t always know teaching was his future.

“I think that it has always been in the back of my mind,” Sutton said. “My mom teaches here too, and as a lot of people probably know; she has made a big influence on many students and on me, so I’ve just kinda grown up around seeing the impact she has made.”

Although Sutton is teaching Environmental Science and Physics right now, he also has two other focuses: volleyball in the fall and softball in the spring. He said that is why he got into coaching.

But outside of teaching, Sutton enjoys lounging around, and watching TV, especially older comedies and shows.

For Sutton, attending Argyle then coming back to teach was the perfect decision.

“Having gone to school here I knew the tradition of excellence and how the students want to succeed, which helps me help y’all do that,” Sutton said. “In my opinion, there is just no better place to be in the state of Texas than here, so I just wanted to come home.”
