Argyle High school excels at sports and our soccer team is no exception. Girls and boys soccer had several players make All District first team, and All District second team, and both teams were district champions in the 2015 season. However, this season will be a bit different than in years past. Coach Coke, a former Argyle soccer coach, is returning to take over the girls soccer program.

“It’s going to be different with a new coach this year, but we are super excited for the season to start, ”Senior varsity player, Makenna White said. “We’re already doing new drills to help us improve and I’m really excited about how far we could make it this season.”

White is hopeful to make it to state this year.

“Win or lose I really just love playing with my teammates and having fun on and off the field” White said.  “But I honestly am confident in my team and I think we have a real possibility of going far in the playoffs this year.”

Coach Lundy, the boys soccer coach, is also anxious for the season to start.

“It’s really exciting to have 7 senior varsity returners,” Lundy said. “Last year we made it to playoffs and I really think that this year state is a real possibility.”

Lundy coaches some of the boys not only in soccer but also in football.

“There’s nothing better than coaching,” Lundy said. “It’s the best feeling in the world to watch these kids succeed and get better.”

The soccer season will start next semester. Players and coaches are already motivated and looking forward to the upcoming season. Students should show their eagle pride and attend the 2016 Argyle soccer teams’ first game next semester.   The 2016 soccer schedule will  be posted on the Argyle ISD website soon.
