The upcoming PSAT will be taken by both sophomores and juniors on October 15 with the deadline for junior sign up on October 3. Many students have been taking courses covering the PSAT and SAT as well as individual studying to improve their performance on the test.

“I’ve been taking an SAT class on the weekends to get prepared,” Junior William Coghlan said. “With that and studying SAT vocab over the summer, I think I’m ready.”

Junior Monte Day thought taking the test last year helped better prepare him to take it this year, but is still a little worried.

“I feel like it will be tough, “ Day said. “But hopefully I can do pretty well, or at least better than last year.”

Many students are aiming for scholarship, but aren’t very optimistic about their chances in getting one.

“I’m trying to do well enough to be a merit scholar,” Junior Lucas Shigley said. “But I really doubt that I can do that good, the test is near impossible.”
