A vigil was held Sunday night at the Argyle Methodist Church to remember members of the Miller family that had been killed in a head on car accident on Aug. 8.  Many members of the Argyle community attended, as well as several family members from South Dakota.

On August 8th, Mike and LeAnn Miller and their two children, Miles and Zoey, were heading back from a family vacation when they were struck head-on by a pickup truck. New Mexico police and paramedics later concluded that the family was killed instantly on impact.

Families and relatives attending the vigil recalled the ever-present smiles of the family. Craig Lieber, LeAnn Miller’s brother, was especially reminiscent.

“They were smiling–always smiling,” Lieber said. “I’m going to be a little more like them, because the worst moments possible trigger a change in people.”

The Argyle community is mourning the loss of the Miller family. A counseling session is being held at the Argyle Hilltop Elementary school on Monday from 11:00-1:00 pm where students can draw pictures and write letters in memory of the family. A funeral has yet to be scheduled.
