Baseball Struggles Early, Rallies Mid-Season

Baseball+Struggles+Early%2C+Rallies+Mid-Season

The baseball season is in mid-swing. With a goal of playing at the state game on June 4, the varsity and JV boys have been playing their hardest. Currently, the team has won 15 games, lost 7, and tied 1. On Tuesday March 25, the boys won their first home district game against Frisco Lone Star 2-0. Senior Parker Mushinski pitched five innings and struck out ten batters. Another outstanding player during the Lone Star game was junior Hunter Markwardt who came in as the relief pitcher.

Throughout this season, many players have received remarkable stats. Parker Mushinski has made five homeruns along with junior Ryley Balch receiving three homeruns. Junior Cutter McDonald and sophomore Tanner Boyzuick have both received one homerun. Senior Matt Ralph is also having a great season as the batter in DH position.

The high school baseball team holds many talented pitchers. Senior Drew Gooch and sophomore Trey Roach both maintain the best pitching record on the team. Close behind them is freshman Connor Mushinski. Although Connor is on the JV team and the others are on varsity, he has a very impressive tournament game win record.

Hopes are high for this year’s team to make it to state. Students are looking forward to cheering  on the varsity boys at their next game on March 28 at Aubrey high school.
