Monday at Pottsboro the Eagle Golf “A” team found themselves in 2nd place after day 1 of the regional golf tournament shooting a 315. They were 2 strokes behind regional newcomers Decatur who shot 313. Day 2 was a different story as the Eagles came out with a mindset of “we have something to prove” they stormed the field shooting a 299, breaking 300 for the first time at the regional tournament and claiming the first Regional Tournament Championship in school history. The Eagles finished 16 strokes ahead of 2nd place Decatur and will now travel to Austin to play in the State Golf Tournament on May 2-3 for the second year in a row. The Argyle “B” team finished 7th place out of 16 teams at the regional tournament and fell 20 strokes shy of advancing to the State Tournament also.
